Who we are

Channel Infrastructure is New Zealand’s largest fuel import terminal, storing and distributing 40% of New Zealand’s fuel, including 80% of New Zealand’s jet fuel. We receive, store, test and distribute petrol, diesel, and jet fuel that our customers import and supply to Auckland and Northland.

About Us

Channel Infrastructure delivers infrastructure solutions to meet New Zealand’s dynamic fuel needs.

Based at Marsden Point, in Northland, we are a world-class operator of critical infrastructure, for the fuel needed by New Zealanders today and tomorrow. We are New Zealand’s largest fuel import terminal, storing and distributing 40% of New Zealand’s fuel, including 80% of New Zealand’s jet fuel. We receive, store, test and distribute petrol, diesel and jet fuel that our customers import and supply to Auckland and Northland.

Fuel is imported into Marsden Point using our deep-water harbour and jetty infrastructure, where it is then stored in over 290 million litres of storage tanks on site.  This tank capacity means we underpin the resilience of New Zealand’s fuel supply chain.

The fuel is then distributed through our low-emission and efficient 170-kilometre pipeline to Auckland or by our customers, who own the fuel (bp, Mobil and Z Energy) by truck into Northland.

Channel’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Independent Petroleum Laboratories (IPL) provides high-quality fuel testing services throughout New Zealand.

Purpose, Vision & Strategy
